Bushy Makgopa Resigns from EXCO

Bushy Makgopa, the current Head of Football at PLFA, has resigned from his Executive Committee position due to work commitments.

Mr. Makgopa was co-opted to the position of Head of Football in June 2019 after the position was left vacant by the then Head of Football, Mr. Jabu Maselela. Prior to that, he was Head of Referees, a position to which he was elected in August 2018.

Mr. Makgopa has been extremely busy during the COVID19 period with work commitments, reaching out to committees as part of the City of Tshwane’s poverty relief programmes. This unfortunately this is not a temporary assignment, and it will continue to render him unavailable for the work of the association.

Mr. Makgopa is not lost to football. He will participate at the club level whenever time allows. His last appearance at the association was on the 29th of November 2020, wrapping up the PLFA Diski Return Challenge.

Obviously the Executive Committee will still deliberate on this resignation and release a formal statement. This is just a preliminary update to prevent real events to be peddled as rumors.

We wish Mr. Makgopa well and for him to know that should his work circumstances change, there will always be a spot for him at the EXCO.
