Commencement of the Super League

The Executive Committee is preparing for the Commencement of the Super League for the 2022 season. For the first time in many years the association needs to commence with the league as early as possible in order to allow the league to play all its fixtures comfortably and still meet the deadline for the submission of winners at the end of the season. It must be remembered that the Super League season really ends in May. Considering this, December and January are really dead months, making the season shorter than it seems. January also brings its own disruptions with the affiliation compliance which may lead to teams being halted from playing if they are not compliant.

In order to facilitate the commencement of the Super League season, the Executive Committee agreed to do the following:
  1. Facilitate the prize giving for 2019;
  2. Revise Registration Fees for Season 2022 to accommodate the cost (partial) of the Administrator and the registration of players;
  3. The outstanding extra player registrations for season 2021 to be invoiced to the respective clubs, including for junior and intermediate teams.
  4. Offset the prize monies from the debts, get agreement from the clubs to use the remainder of the prize monies to contribute to the registration for the 2022 season, and prioritise the payment of the remainder of the prize monies for Super League winner in 2021.
  5. Advertise Super League Commencement for at least two weeks on the Website, Facebook and Twitter;
  6. Invoice Super League Registrations for 2022 season (Remember, new clubs must also affiliate for Season 2021);
  7. League fixtures to be drafted and completed by the 8th of September 2021, to be approved by EXCO by the 12th of September 2021 and to be published by the 13th of September to start by the 18th of September 2021.

New affiliates will be required to pay Membership Fee of R500.00 for the 2021 Financial Year, Plus the Registration Fees for the Super League once finalised. They will also be required to pay a Membership Fee of R750.00 in 2022 as well.

The revision of the Registration Fees for all divisions will include the following costs:
  • Administrator Costs: From this, the association will afford to pay the Administrator;
  • Player Registration: These costs were omitted in 2021 and led to the loss operation in terms of registration of players as the association paid for these on behalf of the clubs.

The cost of material prizes will still be excluded from the Registration Fee as the relationship with Supersport United will continue to be maintained. This relation is reducing the cost of football drastically within Pheli in that the association and Supersport United split the cost of prizes, where the association handles the prize monies, and Supersport United handles the material prizes (trophies, medals, soccer kits and costs of presentation).

Members are urged to prepare themselves for the registration for what promises to be a competitive and exciting Super League in the next month. The association will communicate further on this.
