This is an urgent notice to all Members of the Association.
Up until the 31st of December 2019, the Association has been using an Accounting System called WaveApps. This system has been in use by the association since 2016. It is a good system and extremely convenient.
The most convenient functionality of the system was, until end of December 2019, the ability for the system to get bank transactional records from the bank and automatically update itself on a daily bases. This reduces not only time and effort in the financial administration, but also errors.
This System is run from the cloud and originates from Canada.
In November 2019, the WaveApps company announced that the system will no longer connect with the banks in non-American and non-European Countries. Meaning that all the automated effort will now be manual, with an introduction of opportunity for errors in the financial administration for South African users like PLFA. See message here-below:

To mitigate the above, PLFA will as from the 1st of January 2020 make use of an alternative system that is called SlickPie. The financial records are being transferred from WaveApps to SlickPie already as ‘Opening Balance’ transactions. This exercise will take place for a period of a week, and should be completed by the 7th of January 2020.
As a consequence of the above, all Members will receive the invoices from within the SlickPie system. All these invoices will be making reference to the olde Wave Invoice number to ensure accuracy. The Due date will also match those from WaveApps. So please expect these and do not be surprised or confused.
Payment must continue to be made to the same PLFA Bank account. Please remember that the interest will continue to be charged on overdue payments.
As as the reporting for the year 2019, all the financial reports will come from the WaveApp system. The system will be kept in accessible mode for reference purposes for 5 years.
Should there be any clarity sought on financial records, be it pertaining to your debt, or financial records of the association in general, please feel free to request assistance or an opportunity to scrutinise by sending an email of such request to finance@plfa.org.za.

Members are encouraged to try these systems. They are free.
