The Pretoria’s flagship soccer stadium, which sits at the centre of Pheli, is once again proving to be the Mecca of Football in South Africa. This is Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium. This is truly the home of the greats in South African football. We say this because….
…all the MTN8 Semi Finalists will touch the pitch in their Semi Final matches.
MTN8 is one of the most prestigious competitions in the Premier Soccer League. It comprises of the teams that finished at the top eight of the log in the previous season.
Teams that were on the top eight, and thus participated are Sundowns, Supersport, Cape Town City, Chiefs, Pirates, Free State Stars, Arrows and Maritzburg. The last four were knocked out.
Thanks to Mamelodi Sundowns and Supersport United for representing Pretoria. These are the teams that keep the Pretoria light, particularly the Pheli light shinning. Both these teams will use Lucas Moripe Stadium as their home grounds for the Semis. See the fixture here-below:
Whilst we wish our Pretoria outfits to do well in this competition, we urge the Pheli fans to support these teams in their numbers. Fill up the stadium on the 26th of August when Supersport is home to Kaizer Chiefs, and on the 2nd of September when Sundowns is home to Cape Town City. We want to see a Pretoria Derby Final, again, at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
