Competition Issues

An emerging development regarding the Under 13 an Under 15 components of the competition, which are currently under the #MunyaiSwagg sponsorship, is that Mr. Munyai has indicated that he would like for these to be hosted as pre-season competitions in 2021. The matter has not been finalised. However, if that is the above becomes a final decision, we will will still continue with the Under 13 and Under 15 streams for this competition. W will have to rethink the funding thereof and communicate appropriately.

The PLFA decided to include the other junior divisions; U/11 and U/17 which will be funded through registration fees in order that they also be able participate,

Processes and negotiations are underway to source other funding by external people on order that no team can then have to pay registration fees, The outcome will be communicated by the 4th of November 2020.

PLFA is still awaiting confirmation from the municipality and Northerns Cricket about the availability of the Masopha Grounds and also upon submission by NCU of their impending maintenance schedule, and the other venue will be Mbolekwa Grounds, subject to approval also from the municipality.

Compliance

Compliance with Covid-19 Health Protocols and Alert Level 1 Regulations is very critical, Currently we are seeing a lot of non-compliance with teams having resumed with playing football without receiving permission or the green light from the association, The above must be stopped with immediate effect. Going forward, this will result in the association invoking Disciplinary Measures for such non-compliance,

The corrective actions mentioned here-above must not be seen as targeting anybody. Should any accident / life threatening incident also occur during acts if such non-compliance, those responsible will, in addition to the disciplinary measures, be held liable / accountable to SAFA, SAFA Tshwane and / or City of Tshwane, including coverage of the costs thereof,

Information about appointment of Compliance Officers has been received from 18 members to date and others still need to comply by completing the forms and answering some questions – form available on the website – on this link: https://plfa.org.za/2020/10/18/appointment-of-club-compliance-officers/

The PLFA Compliance Officer will provide Basic Covid-19 education and Training but members need to have the following in place:

  • Screening Device/Temperature Measure,
  • Sanitizer of 70% alcohol,
  • Daily Screening Register – to be signed by all players and management attending training or matches,
  • Masks – to be worn before and after training and matches.

Although not a commitment, the association will seek funds to assist clubs with the above-mentioned compliance requirements. However in the meantime, clubs need to do what they can to compliance.

Match Officials

Members are still not compliant regarding sending Match Officials for training. This is becoming a challenge as the upcoming competitions are starting next weekend,

Clause 5.4(d) of the Rules of the Association requires that each Member sends three of its members to the Referees Forum. This is to ensure that the pool of Match Officials has acceptable quantities and Quality, sufficient to officiate local matches, regional matches and to accommodate the upward movement of the Match Officials within the SAFA Structures. Match Official must submit their details in the website of the association on this link: https://plfa.org.za/officiating/

There will be a Referees Meeting on the 2nd of November 2020 at Molambo Hall from 17h00 in preparation for the Competitions. All Members must be represented in this meeting.

Super League must be officiated by 3 match officials.
